Coronavirus Information for Event Organizers

On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) for the current outbreak of coronavirus disease, known as COVID-19.

We ask you to review your local authorities' travel guidance and health advisories about this outbreak, as well as guidance from the CDC. We're closely monitoring the official guidance from health authorities, local governments, and the CDC in order to support the health and well-being of our community in impacted areas.

Deciding to cancel your event

You, as the organizer, should feel empowered to decide what is best for your organization and attendees in order to keep them safe.

Keep yourself informed about the status and possible precautions in your area. If you're unsure about what to do, please consult your local authorities for guidance.

If you're taking any precautions at your event, make sure to include an FAQ in your event description. This will likely reduce the number of questions you might get from your attendees.

Canceling or postponing your event

If you have to cancel or postpone an event, it's important to communicate with your attendees and issue refunds. Once you've completed these first steps, take your ticket sales offline and update your "No Tickets Available Message" shown to prospective buyers and attendees that visit your event links.

Please visit our Help Center articles for step by step instructions on canceling or postponing your event. Also, feel free to reach out to our team with any concerns directly at help@bigtickets.com

Refunds for canceled events

If an event is canceled or postponed, the refund you issue to your ticket buyer will include the ticket price and any applicable sales tax. Big Tickets can't refund service fees due to the fee we incur from our payment processor for each refund we process. However, we're happy to work with your organization if you'd like to provide a full refund including the service fees. Please contact will@bigtickets.com and we'll work with you to handle this request.
