📲 SMS Marketing Opt-in
This feature allows event organizers to collect SMS marketing opt-ins from attendees at checkout. This enables your team to export phone numbers and permissioned contacts to any third-party SMS platform for marketing purposes.
⚠️ Note: Big Tickets only sends transactional text messages (e.g., ticket delivery). At this time all promotional or marketing SMS must be handled through an external SMS platform.

✅ How to Enable SMS Marketing Opt-In
Log In to Your Dashboard
Access your Big Tickets account and go to your dashboard.
Configure Defaults
- Navigate to Configure Defaults.
- Toggle "Allow SMS Opt-In" to ON.
This adds an opt-in checkbox during ticket purchase and flags opted-in users in your transaction reports.
Enable SMS Ticket Delivery
Ensure ticket delivery via SMS is enabled:
- Go to My Events > Manage Events
- Choose your event and click Edit Event
- Under the Tickets tab, find General Ticket Settings
- Enable “SMS Text Message w/Barcode” under Ticket Sales Options
📤 Exporting Phone Numbers for SMS Marketing
Once enabled, follow these steps to use the data:
Generate a Transaction Report
This report includes opt-in status and phone numbers.
Export to CSV
Download the report as a CSV file for easy upload.
Import into Your SMS Platform
Upload the CSV to your preferred SMS marketing tool (e.g., Twilio, Postscript, Attentive).
